ZAP-70 (Zeta-chain-associated protein kinase) is a 70 kDa molecularweight protein belongs to Syk-protein-tyrosine kinase family. ZAP-70 is generally expressed in natural killer and T cells plays a significant role in lymphocyte activation and T-cell development and also plays a crucial role in the beginning of T-cell signaling by T cell antigen receptor (TCR) activation. Zap-70 overexpression is usually related to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) and it serves as a marker in identifying diverse forms of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). ZAP-70 protein expression detection helps in identifying leukemic cells accounting to 25% of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). ZAP-70 marker expression helps in distinction between CLL subtypes especially Immunoglobin mutations as Ig-mutated (ZAP-70 negative) and Ig-unmutated (ZAP-70 positive
