Anti- Podoplanin

SKU: AND82GP Categories: , ,

Podoplanin (PDPN), also known as gp38, T1A, Aggrus, or D2-40 antigen, is a transmembrane mucin-type glycoprotein expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells, mesothelial cells, podocytes, thymic epithelial cells, and select stromal cell populations. Podoplanin plays important roles in lymphangiogenesis, cell migration, platelet aggregation, tissue development, and maintenance of lymphatic vessel integrity. Through its interaction with CLEC-2 on platelets, Podoplanin contributes to vascular and lymphatic system separation during embryogenesis and influences tumor invasion and metastasis. In diagnostic pathology, Podoplanin is widely recognized as a marker of lymphatic endothelial differentiation and mesothelial lineage. Expression is observed in normal lymphatic vessels and mesothelial cells, while numerous tumors—including mesothelioma, seminoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Kaposi sarcoma, and certain germ cell tumors—demonstrate Podoplanin positivity.
