p63 protein is critical for cell proliferation, it is member of the p53 gene family. p63 protein is expressed in proliferating cells of normal epithelium, cervix, urothelium and prostate. p63 is critical for regenerative proliferation of cells in limb, craniofacial and epidermal morphogenesis The delta Np63 isoform has a high expression in nasopharyngeal carcinomas. p63 protein is predominantly localizied in the basal layer of stratified squamous and transitional epithelia. This antibody will detect all isoforms of p63 since the epitope is within the DNA binding domain.
