Delta 1 Catenin (p120) is a tyrosine kinase substrate involved in cell differentiation by SRC and cell signaling through the EGF, PDGF, CSF-1 and ERBB2 receptor activation. The binding of catenins to cadherins forms a complex, resulting in adhesion of cadherins to the actin filament network of the cell. p120 Catenin has been found localized to cytoplasm in lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and gastric cancer and colon cancers. In immunostaining ?of breast lobular neoplasia, anti-p120 Catenin shows a diffuse cytoplasmic pattern, while breast ductal neoplasia retains the membrane immunostaining pattern. P120 Catenin antibody is useful in differentiation of lobular carcinoma from ductal carcinoma of the breast and in identifying early lesions of lesions of lobular neoplasia
