Anti-NUT1

SKU: AND94GP Categories: , ,

“NUT1, also known as NUTM1 (NUT Midline Carcinoma Family Member 1), is a nuclear protein normally expressed in post-meiotic germ cells of the testis and is involved in chromatin regulation, transcriptional control, and cellular proliferation. Under normal physiological conditions, NUTM1 expression is highly restricted, with little to no expression in most somatic tissues. The biological function of NUTM1 is incompletely understood, but evidence suggests a role in chromatin remodeling and regulation of gene expression associated with cellular differentiation and proliferation.
NUTM1 gained major clinical significance following the discovery of recurrent gene rearrangements involving NUTM1, most commonly fusion with BRD4 and less frequently with BRD3, NSD3, and other partner genes. These rearrangements drive the development of highly aggressive malignancies collectively referred to as NUT carcinoma (formerly NUT midline carcinoma), a rare poorly differentiated squamous carcinoma characterized by impaired cellular differentiation and rapid clinical progression. Detection of NUTM1 protein expression by immunohistochemistry has become an important diagnostic tool for identifying NUT-rearranged neoplasms
