SMMS-1 is a 204 kDa myoepithelium-associated protein and is a marker for smooth muscle cell phenotypes. Monoclonal antibody to smooth muscle myosin heavy chains in combination with monoclonal antibodies to calponin and heavy caldesmon may be used to study the differences between benign, in-situ lesions and invasive carcinomas.
