Anti-MTAP
MTAP (S-methyl-5′-thioadenosine phosphorylase) is an enzyme that plays a major role in polyamine metabolism and is essential for salvage pathway. It catalyzes the cleavage of methylthioadenosine (MTA) into salvageable intermediates including adenine and 5-methylthioribose-1-phosphate. The expression of MTAP is seen in all normal cells but it is deficient in various cancers such as primary leukemia, lung cancer, melanoma, bladder cancer, gliomas and breast cancer.
