Anti- Glypican-3
Glypican-3 (GPC3) is a cell-surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan encoded by the GPC3 gene located on chromosome Xq26. It is attached to the plasma membrane a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor and plays an important role in cell growth, differentiation, and morphogenesis by modulating signaling pathways such as Wnt, Hedgehog, and insulin-like growth factor signaling. GPC3 is highly expressed during fetal development but shows limited expression in normal adult tissues. In pathology, Glypican-3 is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), hepatoblastoma, yolk sac tumors, and certain germ cell tumors, making it an important diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in surgical pathology and oncologic research.
