Product Description

CD4 (cluster of differentiation 4) is a membrane glycoprotein present on the surface of immune cells like T helper cells, some B-cells, macrophages, and granulocytes. It has four immunoglobulin domains (D1, D2, D3 and D4) on extracellular surface of the cell. It has an important role in the differentiation of thymocytes and the regulation of T-lymphocyte/B-lymphocyte adhesion. Its expression is also seen in specific regions of the brain. Most of the T-cell lymphomas are derived from T-helper/ regulatory cell subset, hence majority of mature T-cell neoplasms are CD4+/CD8-. Anti-CD4 antibody is used in the diagnosis of lymphoproliferative disorders to evaluate tumors with CD4 aberrant expression
