MB1 recognizes a membrane-bound antigen which occurs on all B cells with the exception of plasma cells, and on some mature T cells. The MB1 antigen is not present on immature T cells. MT1 reacts with a membrane-bound antigen which occurs on all T cells. MT1 also reacts with thymocytes, monoctyes, macrophages, epidermal Langerhans cells and the Kupffer cells of the liver, as well as with myeloid cells and erythrocyte precursors. The MT1 antigens are not found on mature or activated B cells.
