CD35 or erythrocyte complement receptor 1 (CR1), belongs to the complement activation (RCA) family and is situated in chromosome 1 ?cluster RCA? region. CD35 is expressed by erythrocytes, glomerular podocytes and leukocytes (B cells, neutrophils, subset of T cells, monocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils). CD35 is also expressed by follicular dendritic cells and can be marker diagnostic detection of follicular dendritic cell sarcoma. Anti CD35 antibody labels dendritic cells in tonsil and spleen and glomerular podocytes in kidney.
