Anti-BCL-2 Oncoprotein
Clone 100 reacts with Bcl-2 alpha oncoprotein as assessed by reaction with a 26-kD band in immunoblotting. The Bcl-2 is expressed on mitochondrial inner membrane protein and is frequently overexpressed in many lymphoid malignancies. This protein prevents programmed cell death independent of promoting cell division. Immunohistologic studies have demonstrated that staining for Bcl-2 protein can be used to distinguish neoplastic germinal centers from reactive ones
