Anti-BCL-2
SKU: AN758GP Categories: , ,

BCl-2 (B-cell lymphoma 2), encoded in humans by the BCl-2 gene, is the founding member of the BCl-2 family of regulator proteins that regulate cell death, by either inducing it (pro-apoptotic) or inhibiting it (anti-apoptotic). BCl-2 is specifically considered as an important anti-apoptotic protein and is thus classified as an oncogene. BCL-2 alpha expression inhibits the programmed cell death (apoptosis). BCL-2 protein express levels increases in most follicular lymphomas, neoplastic germinal centers, whereas the normal or hyperplastic germinal centers are negative. Bcl-2 marker is significant in differentiating follicular lymphoma from reactive follicular proliferation (bcl-2 negative). In addition, bcl-2 has been shown to be correlated with disease prognosis in breast cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian?cancer.
